Walking on Cars call time on their decade long journey as a band

Lynda Keogh

After ten years on the Irish and international music scene, Walking on Cars have announced the end of their ‘journey together as a band‘ via Instagram statement.

The announcement reads as heartfelt and genuine and was received in such a way by the band’s 58k followers. Fans have journeyed with the band for almost decade from Dingle to winning the 2012 Red Bull Bedroom Jam competition, and to international stages in Australia, the UAE and all the way back to Kerry again.

Other Irish artists and fans alike have left messages of being heartbroken that the band has come to an unprecedented end. But, fans have also expressed how ‘grateful‘ and ‘thankful‘ they are to the band for the last ten years of music.

To soften the blow (somewhat), the band also announced the release one final EP called ‘Clouds‘. In the statement the band say; “It felt fitting to release one final Ep as a thank you to you all. ‘All the Drinks’ was the last song that we wrote together as a band so it felt just right that this would be the last track that we gave to you…” *bawling*

You can check out the statement below and take a listen here to the last new music we will have from Walking on Cars as a band.

Sad to see that Walking on Cars have come to an end as a band, but we are excited to see what is next for Pa, Paul, Sorcha and Evan as individual artists. Now to get the new EP on!
