Viewers of the cult show have clubbed together to demand another season of the HBO production.
The creators of the show, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are the target of the petition which currently has 316,924 signatures at time of writing.
The petition on Change is entitled “Remake Game of Thrones Season 8 with competent writers.” (meow!)
The reasoning behind the petition reads on the page: “David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on.
This series deserves a final season that makes sense.
Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!”
The finale of the current series and indeed the end of the franchise is this Sunday, but for anyone afraid of having GOT withdrawals will be delighted to hear that filming on one of its prequels is reportedly already underway.
The new series, tentatively titled Bloodmoon, is said to have begun filming in Belfast over the last couple of weeks.
