Anyone who lives close to Cork Airport will be delighted with the latest route that has just been added to the airport's flight schedule.

As part of its winter schedule, Aer Lingus has announced that it will now run flights from Cork Airport to Lisbon.

Flights to the Portuguese capital will begin in October this year, and will run twice weekly.

Speaking about the announcement, Aer Lingus Chief Operating Officer Mike Rutter said: "We are delighted to announce a new route for Cork and further grow our base at one of Europe’s leading airports."

He added that the new flight from Cork to Lisbon will operate year-round, meaning there are no restrictions as to when you decide to head off to the sunny capital.

The best part? Fares will start at just €39.99, and will be available on the Aer Lingus website as of next Wednesday.
