While Dublin gets most of the buzz for new and exciting restaurants, there are actually amazing things happening all across this wonderful island of ours.

1. Ox – Belfast
One of the most-hyped restaurants on the island at the moment. Conde Nast even named it as one of the hottest places to visit in the world recently.
2. MacNean House And Restaurant – Cavan
Home to one of Ireland’s best known and most talented chefs. You only ever hear people coming back from the rural retreat raving about the food and the service.
3. The Happy Pear – Wicklow
The twins seem to be everywhere these days, from books to TV and through to their popular YouTube videos.
The real magic happens out in their Greystones premises, though, which is a paradise for Veggies and health obsessed folk as well.
4. Fishy Fishy – Cork
Not hard to guess what this Kinsale restaurant specializes in based on their name.
Run by a husband and wife team with huge passion, this is some of the very best seafood cooking in the country.
5. Loam – Galway
A Michelin-starred restaurant in the very heart of Galway and well worth planning an entire trip around. Some of the presentation and inventiveness of the food will take your breath away.
6. Step House – Carlow
A must-visit hotel which is one of those places that when you step inside all your problems seem to fade away. The food is so good and comforting that you’ll never want to leave.
7. Gregan’s Castle – Clare
For many in Ireland this will involve a serious journey but that travel will be rewarded by an incredible setting that lets you unwind and escape the world.
The food is world class, the local walks are perfect for building up your appetite and the service is beyond charming.
8. Ananda – Dublin
Indian cooking like you have probably never eaten before; pushing the rules with cooking of immense precision.
Located out in Dundrum, so it may have escaped the glance of city-dwellers – but worth the trip, whether from Dublin or further afield, for this incredible dining experience.
9. Harry’s Shack – Derry
A shack, right on the beach in Portstewart, serving the freshest local fish, meats, vegetables and more.
The seafood is especially good and huge local beaches and walks means you’ll always have an appetite by the time you get here.
10. Cliff House Hotel – Waterford
A beautiful hotel in Waterford that has probably the best view in the country on a summer’s day.
You can eat in the bar or the restaurant and the food and service are absolutely stunning.
