Whatever you have planned already for September, cancel it. There’s only one thing you need to be looking forward to now, and it’s the legendary “Irish Woodstock” festival in Tipperary.
After a break of 24 long years, the beloved Féile festival will officially make a return to Thurles on Saturday 22nd September as Féile Classical.
The line-up is a throwback to the 90s with the Stunning, Hothouse Flowers, An Emotional Fish, The 4 of Us, and the Frank and Walters taking to the stage.
This year gets an upgrade with Prosecco vans, vegan food stalls and pop-up gin bars – no ham and cheese squished sambos here.
Féile was an absolute riot for rock lovers and party animals in Ireland in the 90s and the photos from the festival have us already buzzing

The festival is organised by broadcaster Tom Dunne, who performed with the band Something Happens at Féile ’90, ’91 and ’93.
“This concert has been in the ether for some time now,” he said.
“Myself and the bands are really excited to be collaborating with the Irish Chamber Orchestra to put together a glorious in-your-face celebration of a special time in Irish music.
“Féile was special, it was iconic, it was our Woodstock and Féile Classical will be an even bigger, better, louder explosion of the best of those days and so much more.”
Tickets from €49.50, plus charges, will go on sale from www.ticketmaster.ie at 9am on Friday 27th April and they’re limited as the festival itself will take place in Semple Stadium which is fully seated.
