The Irish pub: a place of delicious Guinness, the ham and cheese toastie, and the best craic you’ll ever have on a random night.
If you’ve ever passed through a town and though “jesus christ there’s a LOT of pubs here”, well you’re probably correct, because it turns out this country sure does have a heap of pubs.
A recent report by the Drinks Industry Group of Ireland (DIGI) found that our little island is in fact home to 7,193 pubs, as well as 3,161 off-licences, 2,406 restaurants and 983 hotels.
Wow.
When you break it down county by county, it’s easy to see which are the booziest counties…
Galway is home to 475, Dublin has a total of 772, and Cork has 738.
