So it’s hardly a mystery why Berlin boasts some of the best beer gardens in Europe. Choosing between all these great venues can be a bit overwhelming, so we’ve compiled a handy list of the 10 best – you’re very welcome!

Wilder Hase

Wilder Hase sets itself apart from competing beer gardens with its all-vegan menu and regular art exhibitions. This one is situated in an interesting location too – among the vacant lots in the shadow of the mighty Berghain club in Friedrichshain.

Jagdhaus Spandau

This one is a bit of a journey out of town, but well worth it! During the summer it opens up a fantastic beach by the lake and live music is a regular occurrence. Head out here for a special evening among the trees!

Brachvogel

Brachvogel is a fantastic, central beer garden with a nice, family-friendly vibe. The atmosphere is very chilled and the presence of a canal on its grounds makes it a delightful spot to kick back for a few hours.

Weihenstephaner

It’s hard to beat the location of this place – it’s situated just by the U-Bahn station Hackescher Markt in the heart of Mitte – but it also outperforms most other beer gardens in the city in terms of quality brews and superior food. A delightfully authentic slice of Bavaria in the city centre! Get in!

Brauerei Eschenbräu

The Wedding brewpub has been gaining a lot of momentum on the city’s scene due to its supreme quality beers, German snack food menu and its pretty, quaint courtyard which sits behind student dorms and draws an interesting bunch of patrons. We’ve nothing bad to say about the place – and you won’t either.

Golgatha Biergarten

Located in the popular Viktoria Park in Kreuzberg, this is a great neighbourhood food and drink spot. With tasty, cheap meals and DJs playing regularly until late at night, this is a great modern twist on the classic German biergarten.
