9 Street Foods In Copenhagen That You Must Try Before You Die

Dylan Varian

1. Harrys Place

Harrys-Place

This place does a serious hot dog. The grilled beast of a sausage (the Børge) is served with a homemade chili sauce known as krudt. And Harry’s Place is well worth the visit.

2. Johns Hotdog deli

Johns-Hotdog-deli

Johns Hotdog deli pitches up every other week on the doorsteps of the city’s main train station. Also one of the most popular food places in all of Copenhagen.

3. Isted Grill

Isted-Grill

The Chinese takeout and burger joint has been around for more than 40 years, and its chunky fries, chop suey, and pork sandwiches have been feeding the locals for years.

Definitely worth popping into if you’re in the area.

4. Christiania Falafel

Christiania-Falafel

The best falafel in Copenhagen can be found at Christiania Falafel. The white kiosk, which has been around for 30 years, and whose bargain-priced pita with falafel (about $4.50) is pretty damn tasty.

5. Noodle House

Noodle-House

On the outside of Noodle House there are typos on the sign, faded photographs of the food in the window and the odd Chinese trinket dangling on the wall.

That being said, the food is amazing. You have the normal stuff on a chinese menu here, including pig’s feet, and congee. But the wonton dumplings are to die for.

6. Kebabistan

Kebabistan

Kebabistan’s lamb shawarma, served in a roll or on a plate with fries and salad, is what many people swear by in Copenhagen.

7. Tacos Chucho

Tacos-Chucho

These guys make their own tortillas for the tacos they serve at Tacos Chuco, which are stuffed with delicious fillings like sauteed mushrooms or chipotle chicken.

8. Toldboden‘s Fish N’ Chips

Toldbodens-Fish-N-Chips

Toldboden is serving up fish and chips—made with local catch and accompanied by seasonal vegetables—from the confines of an old shipping container and it is fucking awesome!

9. La Fattoria

La-Fattoria

All the way from Italy to Copenhagen and now they’re serving simple Italian fare like charcuterie, cheeses, and panini at La Fattoria.

Definitely check these guys out.
