This Bar Has Created The Most ‘Cork’ Cocktail Ever

Sarah

The Rebel County never fails to disappoint when it comes to classic Irish creativity, so it makes sense that brand spankin’ new Cork City bar Cask, on MacCurtain St, has invented a thirst-quenching tipple in tribute to the county’s football hero – Roy Keane.

Just like our main man Roy himself, this drink won’t be for everyone, Cask bar says.

The ‘Cork First, Ireland Second’ cocktail is prickly combination of extreme complexity, it’s got a strong character, a killer finish and shows no mercy in its relentless pursuit of perfection. Yep, it’s Roy in liquid form alright.

And for that extra Irish touch, it’s even served in a li’l glass milk bottle complete with red and white straws and of course, a flag of Roy Keane.

And what’s in this cocktail you may ask? Well, Cotton Ball Brewing Company Indian Summer is shaken with a whole passion fruit, banana liqueur, Tanqueray Gin and Blackwater Distillery Juniper Cask Gin.

It’s softened it out with a scoop of West Cork Vanilla ice cream to the mix and (‘cos it’s not quite sharp toungued enough) the bar also adds some Aperol.

“It’s finished with a dash of Guelder Rose Tincture. Far from a flower, this a sour little berry with a vicious kick!””

The cocktail’s creator, Andy Ferreira, was also behind another Cork classic – The Mai Tai Baii in his previous job, so we’re expecting exciting things from Cask.

Remember The Mai Tai Baiii?

The cocktail menu will change every eight weeks, so you better hurry if you want to taste the sweet nectar of Keano on your lips.
