Mexican Government Hires Street Artists To Paint Entire Town And Help Bring A Community Together

niallharbison

The small Mexican town of Palmitas was having issues with unemployment, youths causing trouble and general violence. Rather than sit on the sidelines thought the Pachuca district decided to try something completely different by hiring the Germen Crew (professional street artists) to paint 200 houses on one of the mountainsides.

The result is a stunning rainbow but far from just being a visual treat the work helped to bring the community together and cut crime. 1800 locals helped out on the project and if they keep the standard up and retain pride in what they have achieved you could have a proper tourist destination in one of the most unlikely sports ever. Fair play to them all!
