Hate having to face a delivery person in your pyjamas every time you order a pizza? Well, it might not be the case for much longer.

Dominos delivered two pizzas to a customer in New Zealand using an "unmanned aerial vehicle" and has said that it plans to implement the method across the business.

"They can avoid traffic congestion and traffic lights, and safely reduce the delivery time and distance by travelling directly to customers' homes," said Don Meij of Dominos.

"This is the future. Today's successful delivery was an important proof of this concept."

The pizza chain has said it is now looking at using drones in Australia, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Japan and Germany.
