‘The Zoo’ Returns To RTÉ With A New Series This Weekend

Kiara Keane

The Zoo will be back on RTÉ One for its ninth season on Sunday night and it sounds like it’s going to be a must-watch.

The show goes behind the scenes at Dublin Zoo and the latest instalment will be taking a look at the arrival of a pair of adorable Amur tiger cubs.

First-time parents Tundra and Ussuri welcomed the little cubs on October 14 and they were visible to the public for the first time in January.

With less than 500 Amur tigers left in Russia’s Amur valley, the recent birth of the two cubs is a cause for great celebration.

The new series will also follow new western lowland gorilla Bangui as he settles into the zoo, as well as elephants, giraffes, sea lions and plenty more.

The Zoo will air this Sunday on RTÉ One at 6.30 pm, when zookeepers Ciarán and Julie will inspect the little tigers for the very first time and find out the sex of both cubs.
