A Brand New Dumpling Spot Has Just Opened In Bray

Éadaoin Fitzmaurice

Oh boy!

Bray has been knocking it out of the park as of late. The seaside town is booming with new, amazing foodie places and there’s also been an array of fab shops opening such as Finders Keepers.
In the same Arcade as this vintage haven is a brand new dumpling eatery that I am absolutely DYING to try.

Say hello to Double 8!

The menu features dishes such as  Joo-Yuk – Pan-fried pork dumplings, Spice Bag Kung Po Gai –  Kung Po chicken dumpling wrapped in spice bag seasoned dumpling pastry, Tofu-Gou – Teriyaki Shiitake Tofu dumpling (wrapped in spinach pastry) and
Banoffee dumplings.
Ehhhh, the dream?

Here is a snap of one of our items on our short but sweet menu! Everything is freshly prepped the day before (including the pastry). We strive to share with everyone on our food as fresh as it can get. What are the fillings of these tasty delights? You will have to pop down to find out then! Where will you be able to find us? To wash it all down nicely, they have prosecco and my named “drink of the summer”, Ramona.
All of their wrappers are made fresh and on-site and they aim to source their main ingredients from the local bray businesses to support back the local community.

What is the meaning behind “double 8?” 8 has always been regarded as the luckiest number in Chinese culture. The pronunciation of ‘Baat’ in Cantonese or ‘Ba’ in Mandarin sounds like the word for fortune. Double the 8, double the fortune! ???? #luckofthechirish #returnoffortunecookies
