The Late Late is back this Friday with a ‘Valentine’s dream come true’ special

Valentine’s Day is here soon and with it comes the return of one of Ireland’s rowdiest TV events.

That’s right, Late Late host Ryan Tubridy is dusting off Cupid’s bow and arrow this week and setting a target on an audience of over 200 single people on a quest to find that special someone.

In a statement ahead of The Late Late Show’s Valentine’s Special episode on Friday, RTÉ has said:

“Love is truly in the air in the shape of blind date matchmaking with brave singletons who are on a quest to find that special someone who has that certain je ne sais quoi.

“We’ll hear some of the greatest fairy tale stories who have already found the Ying to their Yang, so regardless of your relationship status there is sure to be something for everyone this Friday night.

“With plenty of sizzling surprises in store, prepare for a night that celebrates the power of love and all things Valentine’s.”

On top of this, Love Island’s Maura Higgins will be on the show and talking about becoming an overnight success, who she turns to for advice and bumping into Fifty Shades star Jamie Dornan recently.

As well as this, she will be on hand to give the single people in the audience some all-important dating advice.

Meanwhile, Mullingar comedian Alison Spittle and Queen of the Jungle Kerry Katona will chat to Tubridy about their unlikely friendship and their BBC podcast Wheel of Misfortune.

In terms of music, British act Five will be on the show because after all, what says ‘Be Mine, Valentine’ more than a ’90s boyband sensation?

The Late Late Show’s Valentine’s Special will air on Friday, 10 February at 9.35pm.
