A tasty new street food market has opened in Waterford

A new street food market has just arrived in the Déise County and it’s making us hungry for lunch.

I know it’s only Monday so it’s probably a little bold to be mentioning the weekend already but rules are made to be broken and keeping news of a new weekend street food market to ourselves is just far too difficult a task.

It’s like when you buy a present for someone and then immediately want to tell that person what you’ve gotten them. Or when someone lets you in on a secret but warns you not to tell anyone else… sometimes the excitement can prove to be too much and you just need to share these things (not condoning spilling other people’s secrets just to be clear, but a similar principle applies – you get the idea.)

The newest arrival to County Waterford, it’s called the Phoenix Yard market and gets underway every Saturday and Sunday. Waterford’s first dedicated street food market, it features a number of high-profile vendors offering cuisines from all over the globe – including Poland, India, and America. Not forgetting the world-famous Waterford Blaa.

Below is a taste (food pun… get it?) of what to expect next weekend.

Located on 39 O’Connell Street, the new market will be open every weekend (Saturdays 12pm-10pm and Sundays 12pm-6pm).
