This Waterford festival scheduled for next month looks like a foodies dream!

Fiona Frawley

Calling all street food stans, cocktail connoisseurs and local food lovers!

Déise based foodies will be delighted to hear the Waterford Harvest Festival is set to return to the city in two weeks, and the line up looks fairly immense.

For 7 days from Monday 6th September, the city will be transformed into a food lovers paradise with bespoke menus, dining out experiences, seasonal dishes, collaborations with local food producers and so much more.

Everett’s, one of Waterford’s most beloved restaurants set in the atmospheric remains of a 15th century house and wine vault in the Viking Triangle will kick things off with their event Appreciation of Harvest: A Meal to Celebrate – a showcase of the best food produce from across the south east.

If you’re an seafood lover, you’ll definitely want to get yourself down to Guinness & Oysters at the Viking Longboat at The Reg, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks where chefs will be expertly shucking oysters for you to enjoy with a smooth and creamy glass of plain. The Old Couch Cafe in the heart of Waterford’s Cultural Quarter are set to serve up a curated three course menu showcasing the best of the city’s diverse, talented and passionate food producers – all wrapped up in European influence.

Vegans will be well catered for with a vegan midweek tasting menu at Loko Restaurant, who’ll also host a 20km brunch – a special menu consisting only of food sourced from within 20 kilometres of their front door.

The week will feature so many more incredible food events throughout some of Waterford’s best loved cultural spots from the Apple Market to Choristers Crypt at the Waterford Museum of Treasures, and whether you want to come away with the gold at a burger eating challenge or enjoy Prohibition-themed cocktails at a jazzy speakeasy, there’ll be an event for you.
