Anyone who knows the staff at Daata knows that they are as dedicated as they come.
Daata restaurant out in Bray was forced to close on December 30 due to Covid, with staff forced to “test, watch for symptoms and isolate”.
On New Year’s Day the restaurant was back up and running, thanks to Saleem who stepped out of retirement and back into the kitchen.
The team wrote, “Bray’s back….cos look who’s stepped out of x2 vaccinated and boosted early retirement”.
Alongside his wife Shamim, Saleem has been cooking for takeaway from 4 pm daily.
Customers were understandably impressed by this level of dedication with some writing, “What a pair of absolute legends!!! This is resilience!!!! This is why you are the best at what you do” alongside others who commented, “So glad you were able to re-open! We had the best meal this evening THANK YOU”.
Speaking of the closure, the team wrote, “this is the only and responsible decision to make to keep our staff, their families, our customers and suppliers free from any risk there may be.
We know this is a big upset for many planning safe gatherings #takeout or #dinein hoping to add Daata to the mix. We appreciate your patience as this pandemic continues to scupper all efforts.”
Each Daata operates within its own staff bubble, so Daata Greystones and Daata Glasthule have remained open throughout.
