Christmas morning coffee

Christmas morning coffee hits different.

Christmas morning swims have become somewhat of an annual tradition in many Irish households and one Greystones spot has decided to open this year to help the brave few warm up after their dip. Not for the faint of heart, knowing that there’s a cup of something hot waiting for at the other side definitely helps.

Acknowledging that it’s been an incredibly tough year for many people, popular Greystones café The Fat Fox have decided to open on Christmas morning to give back – confirming that not only will they be open for your Christmas morning coffee, but they’ll donate all proceeds from the day to Crumlin Children’s Hospital too.

“With it being the time for giving as a team we have made the decision to open on Christmas Morning to give back by raising money for Crumlin Children’s Hospital.

“This year has definitely had its ups and downs for many. It taught us that we should never take our health for granted and how incredibly difficult it is to have a loved one be unwell which is only amplified more so when it is a child especially at this time of year.

“2020 also highlighted the incredible work the staff at our hospitals do and the sacrifices they make for our health, working long hours often without the thanks or gratitude they deserve.

“We will be opening from 9am-11am before the Christmas swim at our Greystones shop only. All donations welcome and we will have Bob (Land Rover not human) out the front with batch brew and if you want to treat yourself to a Christmas Day flat white, hot chocolate or treats come on inside.”

Encouraging people to support the cause and donate what they can, the team are leading by example and, in a very generous move, will donate their wages to the fund as well.

“All proceeds will be donated to Crumlin Children’s Hospital & our incredible team are donating their wages. We can’t wait for the day so pop down for a little festive cheer.”
