WATCH: First clip of Barry Keoghan in the Marvel Cinematic Universe released

The trailer for the hotly-anticipated Eternals movie has been released and with it, our first look at Barry Keoghan’s debut into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

One of our own is about to join the MCU! With the trailer release for The Eternals, we get a glimpse at Barry Keoghan as the supervillain Druig.

Eternals will be the epic story of “a group of immortal heroes forced out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s oldest enemy, The Deviants”, according to Marvel Studios.

The Eternals are “Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris, Gemma Chan as humankind-loving Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as cosmic-powered Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Salma Hayek as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-soul Sprite, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as aloof loner Druig, and Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena”.

That is some cast for one cast. Oh, and Kit Harrington will play human warrior Dane Whitman.

After the trailer dropped and audiences went mad for it, Keoghan shared a screenshot of an old tweet from 2013 when he asked comic book legend, Stan Lee, to make him a superhero.

During an appearance on Virgin Media One’s Six O’Clock show last year, Angelina Jolie praised the young Irish actor, saying, “You know, he’s very unique and that’s a fun thing to see these days.

“When you meet somebody and you say, ‘Well, there’s a lot of people that can do good work’, but when strong, unique personalities come forward and they have their own, something that you haven’t seen before, it’s really exciting, it’s fun to see. I think highly of him.”

Eternals is set to be released in cinemas in November.
