Food and drink is a language we can all understand.
Taste and Tour is adding three new tours to its 2020 line-up, including a ‘City Cocktail Circuit’, the ‘5-stop Brunch’ route and a ‘Crafty Beers and Street Eats’ tour.
Winner of Northern Ireland’s ‘Best Small Visitor Attraction’, the uber-popular tours have welcomed more than 15,000 guests over the past three years.
Showing visitors of all ages and nationalities the sights, the aim is to share the real Belfast with visitors - focusing on undiscovered venues and local produce.
All routes see guests enjoy a walking tour of some of Belfast’s best-loved and oftentimes little-known hotspots.
First up the ‘City Cocktail Circuit’. A cool new addition exploring Belfast’s cocktail culture, it’s described as a “three-hour city dander”. Taking guests to five of the city’s most renowned cocktail haunts, they’ll sip on seven cocktails with bite-sized culinary delights along the way too. Tickets cost £70 (just over €83).
No prizes for guessing what the ‘5-stop Brunch’ tour entails as it pretty much does what it says on the tin. Incorporating all the must-have elements of a classic brunch, it repackages them into a grazing-style Sunday tour. Guests will hit up five of the city’s quirkiest cafes, each serving up their own brunch plate and cocktail. Priced at £63 (almost €75). No better way to spend a Sunday if you ask me.
And finally, the ‘Crafty Beers and Street Eats’ tour, for beer and street food aficionados. An adventurous tour, it teaches participants about the local craft beer scene while letting them in on emerging street food trends. Guests will visit four beer and street food venues, trying seven beers and four food bites. Come with an empty belly and an open mind. Tickets cost £55 or €65.34.
While the original ‘Belfast Food Tour’ remains one of the most popular tours, other recent additions include the ‘Belfast Gin Jaunt’ and the ‘Belfast Whiskey Walk’. Both created in response to an increase in local spirit production.

Absolutely delicious meal @ilpiratabelfast Seafood with fergola pasta and asparagus and pea with lemon butter and the classic that is the gnocchi with duck ragu. This was only a part of our meal, and it was sublime! (Did you know they do a caffeine free espresso martini!) #belfast #belfastfood #belfastcity
Co-founder of Taste and Tour Phil Ervine said: “Our overall aim is to highlight the very best of local produce and talent through interactive and entertaining experiences. We focus on sharing both the well-known and the under-the-radar to offer our guests a food and drink experience that they won’t forget.
We’ve been working on our new tour concepts for over a year, so it’s very exciting to reveal each one in all its glory – perfect timing just ahead of the gifting season too. We always try to keep ahead of the curve and our new food and drink experiences tap into emerging trends such as street food and much-loved occasions like brunch, but of course feature our Taste and Tour twist."
