10 Of The Best Eats In Limerick

Éadaoin Fitzmaurice

That glorious time of the month is here when your bank account looks healthier than usual.

Hellloooo payday you glorious yoke ye!

Limerick is absolutely booming with foodie talent and there’s no better time to grab that fork than now, with that few extra quid in your póca.

Here are some of my top picks:

1. La Cucina

What started out as a small café has now become one of the most popular places to eat in Limerick city.  La Cucina brings the taste and tradition of Italian cooking to one of Ireland’s oldest cities.

Wonderful Italian food that is rustic, tasty and wholesome.

2. Coqbull

Sporting everything from fresh chicken breast to succulent Irish beef to tempura cod, Coqbull has a menu that sorts the boys from the men in the most delicious of ways.

This is a burger fan’s dream!

Low carb and gluten-free options are also available, meaning you can dine with no guilt. Happy days.

3. The Buttery

Wana splash out on a stunning brunch?

Located in the heart of the city, this rustic eatery is ultra cool with incredible food and the friendliest staff.

The Buttery brings a little piece of cosmopolitan coolness to the street of Bedford Row.

4. Rift Coffee

If it’s a standout coffee you’re looking for, there’s only one place to be: Rift Coffee on Mallow Street.

This hipster paradise is a coffee lover’s dream and the ideal spot to perch yourself and people watch for hours at a time.

The café specialises in top quality artisanal coffee, gourmet sambos and salads and decadent sweet treats.

If you’re popping in for some morning fuel, the café also serves some whopper breakie bowls that will bring a tear to your eye.

5. Azur

Azur Limerick is one of the city’s most popular spots for a hearty dinner. It serves a wide range of dishes from seafood to steak, and of course a homemade sweet treat.

Azur’s small team is made up of young, talented people who are passionate about delivering a great dining experience and service. A different special every day ensures it appeals to every palate.

6. House

House is the ideal spot for some boujee cocktails and stellar Instagrams.

It’s also a serious spot for food, however, serving brunch in the morning and lunch and dinner after that.

If you’re feeling really fancy, try their cheese and charcuterie board with a gloine of vino!

7.  Copia Green

This award-winning eatery is committed to nourishing you with every plate.

Seasonal, local and sustainable produce is top of their agenda which is so refreshing to see. The café is also zero-waste which is class.

Healthy and delicious!

8. Texas Steakout

When my boyfriend brought me to Texas Steakout for dinner at Christmas I have to admit, at first, I turned my nose up – I just didn’t like the idea of the name.

My judgement was quickly swayed when our food was put in front of us. It was absolutely delicious and came in at a very fair price.

9. Hook And Ladder

A cute lil spot that’s ideal for brunch lovers.

Try their French toast, it’s a good’un.

10. Tuscany

Fresh Italian cuisine that packs a punch.

Tuscany should be on every food-lover’s bucket list!
