10 Of The Best Eats In Limerick

Éadaoin Fitzmaurice

That glorious time of the month is here when your bank account looks healthier than usual.

Hellloooo payday you glorious yoke ye!

Limerick is absolutely booming with foodie talent and there’s no better time to grab that fork than now, with that few extra quid in your póca.

Here are some of my top picks:

1. La Cucina

What started out as a small café has now become one of the most popular places to eat in Limerick city.  La Cucina brings the taste and tradition of Italian cooking to one of Ireland’s oldest cities.

Wonderful Italian food that is rustic, tasty and wholesome.

4. Rift Coffee

If it’s a standout coffee you’re looking for, there’s only one place to be: Rift Coffee on Mallow Street.

This hipster paradise is a coffee lover’s dream and the ideal spot to perch yourself and people watch for hours at a time.

The café specialises in top quality artisanal coffee, gourmet sambos and salads and decadent sweet treats.

If you’re popping in for some morning fuel, the café also serves some whopper breakie bowls that will bring a tear to your eye.

5. Azur

Azur Limerick is one of the city’s most popular spots for a hearty dinner. It serves a wide range of dishes from seafood to steak, and of course a homemade sweet treat.

Azur’s small team is made up of young, talented people who are passionate about delivering a great dining experience and service. A different special every day ensures it appeals to every palate.

6. House

House is the ideal spot for some boujee cocktails and stellar Instagrams.

It’s also a serious spot for food, however, serving brunch in the morning and lunch and dinner after that.

If you’re feeling really fancy, try their cheese and charcuterie board with a gloine of vino!

8. Texas Steakout

When my boyfriend brought me to Texas Steakout for dinner at Christmas I have to admit, at first, I turned my nose up – I just didn’t like the idea of the name.

My judgement was quickly swayed when our food was put in front of us. It was absolutely delicious and came in at a very fair price.
