The Everyman, Cork city’s most iconic theatre, will throw back the curtains and fling open the doors to the public once more – announcing that they’ll be back in business from mid-September.
A receiving house for theatre, music, opera, comedy, dance and light entertainment, The Everyman – like countless other businesses across Ireland – has been closed since early March. Good news is on the horizon though as culture vultures will be able to get their fix from mid-September.
Housed on MacCurtain Street in the Victorian Quarter, the theatre was originally opened back in 1897 and has hosted many a play, concert and show since then.
Taking to social media to announce the big news, the team wrote:
“We will be re-opening our doors on Tues 15 Sept.
We are working very hard on creating a programme that will be as exciting, diverse and entertaining as we always strive for. We will be back in touch with you soon with some exciting programme announcements!”
Steeped in history, locals are more than happy to hear they’ll be back in business – welcoming the news and promising to call in as soon as September rolls around.
