If there's one thing that gets people excited and encourages heated debate on this website, and across our social media channels, then it has to be chicken wings.

People seem to all get riled up talking about who does this simple delicacy best, so we thought it was only right that we settled this in the only way we know how: with a list.

Feel free to get involved in the comments, or on social media, and suggest any you think we have missed! (Serious craving for chicken wings now after writing this... apologies if this has a similar effect on you.)

10th. The Harbourmaster

People who work down in the IFSC will have known about this little secret for some time now. If you didn't then best you get down there ASAP.

9th. Camden Rotisserie

A newbie on the list, and as you'd expect a place dedicated to chicken in a way like this is always going to have decent wings. Nothing fancy here just wooden benches and great wings.

8th. Wingit

You'd expect a place named after the actual dish to be pretty good at cooking these up, and they don't let you down. Well worth the trip on the Red Line out to Tallaght.

7th. Vintage Cocktail Club

Speaking of places that do what they say on the tin, this joint is better known for the amazing cocktails – but if you want some amazing finger food to complement the drinks, their wings with skinny fries and their awesome sauce will set you up for the night.

6th. Captain America's

They've been on the scene for a couple of decades now, and that simply doesn't happen in this city unless people keep coming back. The reason why? They're fantastic at what they do.

5th. Herbstreet

Perfect little spot for all the young professionals living and working down in the Grand Canal Dock area. Lots of great options on the menu but people come from far for the wings.

4th. Canal Bank Cafe

Sister restaurant to the top entry on this list, so you know they are going to be awesome too. Great brunch spot at the weekend to sit and watch the world go by.

3rd. Elephant And Castle

Slipped down the list ever so slightly in the last 18 months, with some saying they're not as good as they used to be. For us they were the trend setter in this space so will always have a special place in our heart!

2nd. Blue Bar Skerries

There was outrage when we didn't include them last year and we have to put our hands up and say that people were right. Sorry, Blue Bar!

1st. Tribeca

Walk past any night of the week and look in at how many people are eating the wings with big happy smiles on their faces and you'll know just how good these are. Good luck trying to eat a whole portion!
