Two Irish Resorts Have Been Named Amongst The World’s Top 10

Sarah Finnan

Irish hospitality and charm are renowned all over the world, and two of the country’s finest resorts have just gone to prove why.

Winning big at the Conde Nast Traveler annual Readers’ Choice Awards, Adare Manor in Co. Limerick and Dromoland Castle Hotel and Country Estate in Co. Clare were named amongst the world’s top resorts, ranking 5th and 7th respectively.

A record 600,000 people voted to name the 2019 winners, but Ireland held their own, beating off competition from all corners of the globe.

Describing Adare Manor as “a delicious mix of old and new”, it’s not hard to see why readers love it. The gargoyles, staff and grand spaces all got a shout out, securing its spot in the top five. Very impressive.

Just look how majestic it is.

Dromoland Castle came in at number seven, impressing thanks to its recent multi-million-euro renovation and stunning natural surroundings, as well as its proximity to such attractions as the Cliffs of Moher and The Burren.

Sirikoi Lodge in Kenya stole the gold for its homely feel, from the “lovingly tended gardens” to the family heirlooms on display. Offering morning and evening game drives, as well as guided bush walks with a ranger, horseback rides across the plains and the chance to fly in a helicopter up to Mount Kenya, there’s loads to see and do here.

So many new places to add to my travel bucket list.
