Emma’s Story

About 20 years ago, a friend of mine went on a trip of a lifetime hiking and camping in the Alaskan wilderness. She was gone for three weeks and didn’t see a soul the entire time. 

When she got back to Ireland, she brought her films to be developed (this was pre-digital of course) and organised a little party for us to hear all about the trip. She picked up the photos on the way to the get-together. We were all sitting around, flicking through the pics when she stopped.

Among all the images of mountains and streams was one of her, sound asleep, in her tent.
