All You Need To Know About The 2019 Cork Jazz Festival

It’s always one of the best music-centric weekends of the year and it won’t be long until the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival is back.

The annual Rebel City event returns on the weekend of Thursday October 24 to Sunday October 28 which, conveniently enough, is a Bank Holiday.

The festival has been running since 1978 and has not only been known to bring some of the best Irish and international musicians to one place, it’s also famous for being one of the most-craic filled weekends on the calendar.

Headliners already confirmed include festival veterans Big Brass Band explosion who will play The Everyman on the Saturday afternoon while Martha Reeves & The Vendellas will be bringing a Motown sound to City Hall on Sunday night.

Despite the name, it’s not all about the jazz with the likes of Aslan and Jenny Greene also booked to take part across the weekend.

Dr. Linley Hamilton – The Everyman, Sunday October 27 at 2pm

A renowned trumpet player who has been part of the Irish scene for over 20 years.

Spyro Gyra – The Everyman, Saturday October 26 at 8pm

A jazz fusion group originating from Buffalo, NY who have sold over 10 million records.

Mica Paris sings Ella Fitzgerald – The Everyman, Friday October 25 at 8pm

A singer with over 30 years experience, Mica will be paying a special tribute to The First Lady Of Song.
