David Gray has been announced as the latest act to perform at Cork’s Musgrave Park next summer.

A press conference took place in Cork City on Monday afternoon to reveal the identity of the next high-profile performer to headline next year’s summer concert series and having been rumoured as a likely candidate, Gray confirmed that he would be taking to the Musgrave Park stage to mark the 20th anniversary of his legendary album, White Ladder.

Gray revealed that the tour, which also includes dates at Dublin’s 3Arena and Belfast’s SSE Arena, will conclude in the Rebel County on June 20 in what will be his biggest ever show in Cork.

Pre-sale tickets for Gray’s return to Cork are available from 9am this Wednesday, November 13 while general tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday, November 15 from Ticketmaster.ie.

“It’s the 20th anniversary of White Ladder, a unique record with its own remarkable history,” Gray said.

“Jammed full with big, open hearted songs and flooded with a raw emotional energy. It’s an album that came from nowhere to steal the hearts of millions all over the world, completely transforming my life in the process.

“Twenty years on and it feels like White Ladder is just as alive for people now as it was back then – so to celebrate this milestone, I will be releasing a special anniversary version of the album and assembling all the original band members with all the original equipment, in order to take White Ladder out on the road and recreate the record in its entirety.”

Already confirmed for Musgrave Park next summer is Lewis Capaldi, The Script, Picture This and Dermot Kennedy while several more acts are set to be announced in the coming months.
