We don’t have too long left to wait.

Fans of the hilarious Irish comedy, The Young Offenders, have been eagerly awaiting news of when the second season of the show would arrive to their television screens.

Following the remarkable success of the feature film, first series and Christmas special; the second season began filming earlier this year.

There have been several sightings of the stars, Alex Murphy and Chris Walley, around Cork City in recent months and apparently, fans won’t have to wait much longer to see what kind of antics Conor and Jock will get up to next.

Comedian PJ Gallagher, who plays Principal Walsh, appeared on The Ray D’Arcy Show on Saturday night and he revealed that the next season will be on our screens in just a matter of weeks, although he didn’t have the precise date.

“I’m not sure of the day exactly,” said Gallagher.

“I think we find out on Halloween, so it’s a big day for Brexit and The Young Offenders. Season 2 starts in November, we know that much.”

The Young Offenders movie was released in 2016 to critical acclaim and commercial success, before a six-part television season was commissioned. Episodes of the first season appeared on BBC Three and RTÉ 2.
