A new addition to the already fairly booming coffee scene down in Cork, a cuppa Joe from the Guji Coffee Bar would be hard to pass up. Serving up the goods from a bubblegum pink shipping-turned-coffee container, you’ll find ’em down at Centre Park Road in Ballintemple Co. Cork.
Also the location of a new weekend market, the Marina Market kicked off for the first time last Sunday. However, local interest was so great that organisers were somewhat overwhelmed and have since made the decision to postpone the market until further notice. Updating the public on the thought process behind this decision, a statement shared on social media during the week reads:
‘Wow, what a first weekend at the Marina Market.
The people of Cork have shown the city is ready for the Marina Market – the cosmopolitan continental style weekend market that ‘a city rising’, needs and deserves.
As Covid-19 continues to challenge us in uncharted waters, we and our stakeholders believe it is appropriate to postpone the Sunday Market until a comprehensive solution for what is a vibrant, exciting addition to Cork is found.
We and all our stall-holders were massively encouraged by the level of support for Sunday’s market. For now, we must take a step back and plan how we can deliver a market experience people so obviously crave.
Sunday was just the beginning of what we hope will be a great adventure on the city’s doorstep. We have ambitious and exciting plans to make the Marina Market an integral part of the life the city and the thousands of visitors that come to our city every year.’
Encouraging people to ‘check back’ over the coming weeks, it’s hoped that the market will resume service as soon as organisers have put proper Covid-friendly measures in place.
The market may have been put on the backburner for now, but it’s still all systems go for the guys at Guji who have decided to continue trading as initially planned.

Back open as of this Saturday at 9am, they’ve assured locals that it’s all gucci Guji and they’ll be fully stocked with coffee and sweet treats all weekend.
