Eight Of The Very Best Irish Campsites You Need To Check Out This Summer

Rebecca Stafford

Camping – sleeping under the stars, becoming one with nature, cracking open a cold one with the lads/ladies. Sounds like an ideal break away from the office, right?

There’s no better time of year to pitch a tent than the summer – I mean, the weather is bound to pick up again if we cross our fingers hard enough.

With that in mind, here are 8 of our favourite campsites in Ireland. Have we missed any good ones? Let us know!

1. Dungannon Park – Tyrone

Dungannon Park is a 70-acre parkland surrounding a gorgeous lake and it has plenty of facilities like a tv room and a tennis court.

2. Campail Teach an Aragail – Kerry

This campsite has facitilities for caravans, tents and all that jazz, as well as having pubs, shops, museums and restaurants in the surrounding areas.

Doesn’t sound much better than that.

3. Loughcrew Megalithic Centre – Meath

Located on one of the highest points in Meath this campsite gives a gorgeous view of eastern Ireland and is surrounded by plenty of history.

4. Tree Grove – Kilkenny

Tree Grove Campsite is located on an old Georgian farm estate surrounded by stunning green fields and trees. This site has free wifi (yeah boiii) and there are also horse riding lessons available.

5. Hidden Valley Camping – Wicklow

This site has mini golf, kayaking and a rock climbing wall, as well as only being a short drive from Dublin. It’s an ideal camping spot for those looking to get out of the city.

6. Garrettstown House Holiday Park – Cork

Family Discos, children’s club, tots playroom, as well as being close to towns like Kinsale and the gorgeous Irish coast, this campsite has it all.

7. Curraghchase Caravan & Camping – Limerick

This campsite is perfect for those looking for a relaxing break in the beautiful countryside. Only a 15-minute drive to Limerick City.

8. Lakeside Holiday Park –  Clare

This family holiday park is surrounded by mountains, islands and woodlands and the beautiful lake of Lough Derg. You can even bring your furry pal along as pets are allowed also.
