Teaming up to put their “thinking CAP” on, the initiative aims to make conversation key and ease the daily struggle for anyone suffering from communication difficulties.

Tribe Hospitality Group has designed and launched a new communication friendly menu to make the ordering process that bit easier for anyone with communication difficulties.

Part of their Communications Awareness Programme (CAP), each menu is designed to make simple tasks such as ordering a coffee easier for anyone with communication difficulties.

Menus come equipped with pictures for ease of use. All staff also receive annual training with the programme; training not only on how to be more patient but also on how best to help customers who might be having a hard time in expressing themselves – meaning that staff are well versed in how to handle a variety of situations.

Speaking of the project, designer Niamh Gallagher of the Tribe Hospitality Group said:

“The way we see it is everyone has the right to order what they want.”

Operating in seven locations across Galway city, Tribe Hospitality Group encompasses the likes of Saol Café, Mr Waffle and Ground + Co, Baby Ground + Co, Delight and The Galway Plate.

Responsible for employing 100 people in Galway, the company is known for its investment not only in its staff but in the local community.

The project is currently being implemented in Saol Café, Mr Waffle and Ground + Co in Salthill.
