Monday mornings are never easy – whether you spend ’em working from bed in your PJs, sat at the kitchen table or actually in work – facing up to another week usually takes multiple cups of coffee and lots of TLC.

Starting the day off with some good news is another surefire way to help ease the post-weekend blues and today’s daily dose comes deep-fried, glazed and covered in sugar. Yes, that’s right – Galway has a new donut shop and we can tell that this is going to be a good week judging by that alone.

Serving up some of the city’s finest doughy treats, step inside and you’ll find any number of delish donuts to choose from – including Oreo and cream cheese frosting, caramel and salted peanuts, Kinder Bueno, Ferrero Roche… the list goes on.

Perched on Shop Street, where Griffin’s Bakery used to be, Boston Donuts is right in the heart of the action making it very hard to pass by. Well played, guys.

If donuts are your kryptonite, best make it a double whammy and call into Dungeons & Donuts too. Often classed as Galway’s hidden dessert cave, this place flies a little under the radar as you’d easily walk right by it without even so much as a sidewards glance. Located downstairs in the Bridge Mill on Lower Dominick Street, this place is a big hit with gamers as it offers up a hefty array of different games to accompany its many donuts.
