Ireland May Soon Get Its Very Own Penguinarium

Alana Laverty

The best news ever has been brought to us by the Connacht Tribune.

Ireland could be getting a peguinarium!!!!!

Yup, you heard us. Plans for a penguinarium at the Atlantaquarium in Salthill, Co. Galway are advancing as part of an extension.

Just think of all the little penguins. *squeals*

The new extension will also include an exotic animal enclosure.

Galway Atlantaquaria is Ireland’s largest native aquarium, and has 60 exhibits featuring 170 species. It offers opportunities to hold or touch starfish, Irish sharks and spider crab.

It is one of our favourite places to hang out ‘n’ chill with some sea mates.

One Galway City Councillor has said that a facility “where penguins could hang out” would be compatible with the area’s recreational and amenity zoning. Yassss.
