Popular Galway nightspot Carbon has announced that it will be closing its doors for the final time on August 21.
The Eglinton Street club has been a regular haunt for students since it opened nine years ago and will now be changing ownership.
A post on the venue’s Facebook page says, ‘It is with a heavy heart that we announce Carbon Nightclub will be closing it’s doors for the final time on August 21st this year,’ before going on to say, ‘Please drop in over the next 6 weeks to have a drink with us in our final farewell. We will be hosting a number of nostalgic events to celebrate the life of Carbon so keep an eye out!’
A sad day for the Galway but hopefully the new owners can come up with something special for the city’s night-time revellers.
