Finding good tofu is no mean feat and to be honest I spent quite some time thinking I didn’t like it, when in fact I just hadn’t tasted truly good tofu yet.
Neighbouring the Asian Tea House on Mary Street, the Buddha Bar should be top of your list should you find yourself with a hankering for some good Asian food and a cocktail or two.

Step inside and the interior is dimly lit with low hanging lanterns and Buddha statues dotted around the place, giving it a relaxing yet authentic oriental feel. Home to a huge range of different cocktails, choices include the Shanghai Kiss, the Lotus Espresso and the Choc’orangetini. Very hard to pick a favourite, let me tell you… best try them all so you can make an informed decision.

In truth though, it’s the tofu at the Buddha Bar that keeps me going back for more though.
Even non-veggie friends agree that it’s pretty damn tasty here so that should definitely be enough to convince you to give it a go.

Why is it so good? Maybe it’s the fluffy cloud-like texture when you bite in, maybe it’s the just crispy enough exterior, maybe it’s both. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but trust me it’s good.

Ideal for all different occasions and there’s loads of room inside so is very social-distancing friendly too. Not bad on the pocket either.
