This Rock Legend Has Been Announced For Galway International Arts Festival

Sarah

American rock fans rejoice, because the latest artist announcement for Galway International Arts Festival is going to brighten up your day.

Grab your surfboard and your 80’s pastel clothes, because Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys will play the festival Big Top stage this July.

One of the most influential musicians in the history of pop music, and creator of some of the most catchy songs known to man (eh, hello – Good Vibrations, Surfin USA and Wouldn’t It Be Nice), Brian will play The Beach Boys ‘Pet Sounds’ album in full for its 50th anniversary.

Recorded in 1966, Pet Sounds is considered to be one of the greatest albums ever made, rivalling only The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, so this is a rare opportunity to see true musical genius in action.

Performing alongside a 15-piece band with special guests Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin, Brian’s former bandmates, this gig is 100% going to be full of summer fun and good vibes.

They will also play some classic Beach Boys hits and we are SO excited to bop away to this.

Brian will perform on July 23rd, and tickets go on sale Friday March 3rd, for €65 on giaf.ie and roisindubh.net.

We’re so excited for this ultimate retro day out.
