England Footballer Jack Wilshere Has Been Spending A Bit Of Time In Limerick This Week

For Premier League footballers, the summer break usually means trips to exotic destinations like Vegas, Dubai or Marbella.

West Ham United’s Jack Wilshere though has gone for a different approach and has rocked up in Limerick for a brief stay. The former Arsenal man, who has 34 England caps to his name, was pictured alongside All-Ireland-winning Kerry footballer Darran O’Sullivan at the FAI National Football Exhibition held at the University Of Limerick.

The picture was snapped by David Mahedy, director of sport and recreation at the college where the exhibition will stay until June 30. It will then head off for stops in Waterford and August and Donegal in September.

Wilshere has got a big few months ahead of him as he aims to finally shake off the injuries that have blighted his recent career and a return to Gareth Southgate’s England will no doubt be in his sights.

For his sake, let’s hope some of the Limerick hurlers’ winning formula has rubbed off on him.
