Back operating as a takeaway only, owners at Limerick restaurant La Cucina have said that business is "as bad as it gets" these days.
Forced to trade under what many have said are unsustainable conditions, restaurants across the country are amongst businesses that have been hit hardest by current public health guidelines.
Unable to welcome customers inside as per level three restrictions, outdoor dining has not always proven to be a feasible option and several places have had to revert back to offering takeaway/delivery services only.
Checking in after their first day back on the takeaway grind, La Cucina restaurant in Limerick paints a pretty miserable picture of what the situation is really like.
"Day 1 of takeaway! City centre takings are beyond grim, it's as bad as it gets, don't be fooled by 'takeaway & outdoor dining'! That will not save us & the increase in the PUP was voted against #businesshell"

Fellow restaurateurs around Ireland have echoed much the same thoughts with owners at Dublin restaurant
Las Tapas de Lola commiserating with the Limerick restaurant - adding that level three equals closure for the majority of hospitality businesses.
"15 people on terrace unsustainable even in depths of an Irish 'summer'. Click & Collect tough for city centre persuading people to drive."
