After 67 years of hurt, it's about time someone called on some divine inspiration.
Pope Francis has departed Knock after a brief visit this morning but one opportunistic Mayo GAA fan couldn't let him go without asking for a favour.
The so-called 'Mayo Curse' has prevented the county from winning an All-Ireland Football Championship since 1951, despite appearing in nine finals since then.
It seems though, that 2019 could be Mayo's year, after the Pope took the liberty of signing a green and red jersey before making his way back to Dublin.
The moment was captured on RTÉ and people are loving it...

If Pope Francis signing a Mayo jersey doesn’t break “the curse” nothing ever will ???? #popeinireland
