Owner Appeals For Witnesses After Three Horses Shot Dead Over The Weekend

James Fenton

A horse owner has appealed for witnesses after three of her horses were shot dead over the weekend.

Theresa McGuinness made the discovery on her land at Kilcurley near Tubber on Saturday morning.

According to the Offaly Express, Theresa told local radio that the shooting of the horses was likely to have happened after 8pm on Friday night June 9.

The shocking incident was the culmination of a week of strange activity. On Monday, all of Theresa’s horses were let out onto the main road and had to be returned by a local farmer.

They were released again the following morning and the lock and chain had been cut.

Theresa is asking for anyone with information about the killing of the horses to come forward.
