For the stargazers and wannabe space explorers amongst us.
Organised by Galway Astronomy Club, AstroFest 2020 is set to take place in the Harbour Hotel on Saturday, January 25th.
An event centred around all things astronomy, there will be a series of talks, trade displays and photographic exhibitions to help delve into the mysteries of the above.
Not to mention a special screening of the documentary Apollo 11 at the Eye Cinema on Friday, January 24th at 7:30pm. Best seen on the big screen, it features unseen footage of astronaut Neil Armstrong’s landing on the moon.

NASA scientist Julie McEnery will make an appearance to discuss the Fermi gamma-ray Space Telescope as will Mike Foylan of the Cherryvalley Observatory in Co Meath who will host a lunchtime workshop.
Aimed at both laymen and all those with a more in-depth knowledge of astronomy and the science behind the sky, AstroFest is sure to be both interesting and informative.
