Thurles’ first ever drive-thru now open

Drive-thru

Big Al’s drive-thru has opened at Semple Stadium in Thurles.

Exciting times down in Co. Tipp as Thurles has gotten its first-ever drive-thru. Now open at Semple Stadium, Big Al’s drive-thru aims to make use of an otherwise empty arena.

With Semple Stadium closed for sporting purposes for the foreseeable future, Stadium Director David Morgan took it upon himself to come up with a plan that would mean the space wouldn’t go to waste – launching Thurles’ first-ever drive-thru service in the process.

Offering everything from chipper favourites to home-cooked meals (think battered sausages and double quarter pounders to lasagna and roast dinners – something to suit all tastes), the service sees customers preorder food and then drive into Semple Stadium to collect their order through their car window… meaning the whole process is entirely social distancing friendly.

Overseeing all the operational aspects, David is working alongside his son Toby with all the food being cooked on-site by chef Gerry Crudden.

And if the prospect of a big bag of salt and vinegar chips isn’t enough, rumours have even started swirling that David is in talks to set up a drive-thru cinema on the premises as well. So have the popcorn at the ready.
