‘Possible economic crash’ has led Wexford restaurant to close after 12 years

Katy Thornton

Alba are “following a different path, moving on to the next chapter.”

The string of closures across the country continues, with Wexford restaurant Alba being the latest to make the announcement. Known for its Italian cuisine, Alba opened in Enniscorthy 12 years ago, in the midst of the recession. Unfortunately the environment they came from is the possibly the same environment they’re departing from, as they say, “Now is time to face another possible economic crash, by following a different path, moving on to the next chapter.”

Alba took the time to thank all of their friends, family, and loyal customers over the last 12 years.

Alba was a multi-awarded modern Italian cuisine restaurant with an emphasis on the southern Italian culinary tradition. They will be extremely missed amongst Enniscorthy locals.

Over the last few weeks there has been an alarming number of Irish hospitality businesses closing down due to the cost of living and current energy crisis. We covered a few of them HERE.
