Derry shows its support for the LGBTQ+ community!
Northern Ireland reveals its first rainbow crossing and we absolutely love to see it.
Dubliners will remember the rainbow crossing that was commissioned outside Pantibar on Capel Street during Pride 2021. There are also similar rainbow crossings that support the community in the likes of Berlin and San Francisco. These crossings are a nice token and reflection on our country that explicitly show our support for the LGBTQ+ community in Ireland.

According to
BBC News, Derry City and Strabane District councilors agreed to fund the project while the idea came from the Foyle Pride Committee. The rainbow crossing links Guildhall to the Peace Bridge in Derry.
This comes just over 10 years since the first Pride Parade took place in Derry in 2010.
BBC also reported the former mayor of the city, Brian Tierney, said Derry's "vibrant LGBT+ community contributes so much to life in this city" and that the rainbow crossing now "solidifies Derry's reputation as a welcoming place for everyone".
We think it's a beautiful addition to the city and hope to see more rainbow crossings in Ireland very soon.
