The Beckhams have barely been out of the spotlight since David and Victoria first laid eyes on each all the way back in 1997 and a new Netflix documentary is set to give fans an even greater insight into their lives.
The Sun reports that the streaming service has secured an €18 million deal with the Beckhams for a fly-on-the-wall documentary about their lives. The series will feature the story of David’s rise to fame through family photos and video footage while Victoria’s own exploits as part of the Spice Girls phenomenon will also be included.
There will be interviews and commentary from the family, including the whole Beckham brood, – Brooklyn (21), Romeo (18), Cruz (15) and Harper (9) – while David’s old Manchester United pals Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville will also contribute. Other rumoured famous faces that are set to appear include Cristiano Ronaldo and James Corden.
As well delving into the past, the series will also take in current day events, such as David’s involvement with Inter Miami Football Club, which he set up in 2018.
A source told The Sun that “this is a real coup for Netflix and will show a completely different side to David, one the public very rarely get to see. David’s family are all massive archivers, they’ve been proudly documenting his career since he was a boy and have kept all the old local newspaper cuttings, school records and team photos throughout the years’.
They added that ‘needless to say, David is bound to come off brilliantly while viewers will get to see Victoria’s quick wit.’
The series is not expected to be released until 2022 but it’s definitely one to put on the list for the Beckham-watchers of this world.
