It has emerged that the body of a man, aged in his 30s, has been discovered in Buncrana, County Donegal.

Gardaí were notified immediately, following the discovery in the Donegal town at around 8.30am yesterday evening.

A post mortem examination is yet to take place, however the man's death is not being treated as suspicious.

This follows the tragic death of almost an entire family earlier this year in Buncrana. Six people were in an Audi Q7, when it plummetted into the water at Buncrana Pier at about 7.30pm, March 20.

A four-month old girl was rescued by a bystander who swam into the water after the SUV slipped off the pier. The child was handed out of a window as the car slowly descended into the water.
