One World: Together At Home concert

The One World: Together At Home concert aired on RTE last night.

Curated by Lady Gaga in collaboration with the World Health Organisation and Global Citizen, the One World: Together At Home concert took place on Saturday night – broadcasting on Irish TV last night.

Featuring some of the biggest names in showbiz, the event saw some of the world’s most well-known singers, actors and celebrities come together (virtually of course) to voice their support for frontline healthcare staff working tirelessly in the fight against Covid-19.

Hosted by US talk show hosts Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colvert, Doireann Garrihy and Eoghan McDermott took on hosting duties for the RTE version which saw over 100 artists perform from the comfort of their own homes – raising close to €120million in the process.

Little Mix impressed with their acoustic rendition of their song Touch, while Taylor Swift delivered an emotional performance of a new song called Soon You’ll Get Better.

A number of Irish acts also joined the line-up for the two-hour special gig including Hozier, Niall Horan and Picture This with many dubbing them as standout performances of the night.

Tweeting her gratitude at being involved in the initiative, Lady Gaga wrote:

“I am so humbled to have been a part of this project. Thank you @GlblCtzn. Thank you @WHO. I love you.”

She also thanked the public for tuning in, later adding:

“Thank you with all of my heart for watching #TogetherAtHome, sharing in a global moment of kindness with each other, and spreading positive and loving intentions. We love you.”
