Barack Obama is a man of good taste.
A well-established tradition, each year Barack Obama releases a list of his favourite things.
How very Sound of Music of him.
From hip-hop to country to The Boss, here are my songs of the year. If you’re looking for something to keep you company on a long drive or help you turn up a workout, I hope there’s a track or two in here that does the trick. pic.twitter.com/mQ2VssyDwt

Naming his top songs, movies and books – it’s quite a comprehensive list, one that could provide some inspiration should you find yourself wanting to branch out into different genres.
While last year Hozier featured with his tune Nina Cried Power, this year it’s Ireland’s literary talent that has impressed.
As we wind down 2019, I wanted to share with you my annual list of favorites that made the last year a little brighter. We’ll start with books today — movies and music coming soon. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did. pic.twitter.com/l5qTGkAPok

Revealing Normal People by Sally Rooney as one of his favourite books, it’s amongst good company with the likes of Booker Prize winner Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo.
Telling the story of Connell and Marianne and their somewhat tumultuous relationship, Normal People has consumed the nation over the last year or so with a screen adaptation also in the works.
Next up are my favorite movies and TV shows of 2019. Of course, there’s also American Factory, a film from our own production company, Higher Ground, that was recently shortlisted for an Oscar. Here’s the full list: pic.twitter.com/PEcgwotcxm

Being made into a 12-part series for BBC, Three and Hulu, the series is likely to stay fairly loyal to the book-filming across Sligo, Dublin and Italy respectively. Londoner Daisy Edgar-Jones is set to take on the role of Marianne while Irish actor Paul Mescal will star opposite her as Connell.
The series will premiere in 2020 though there is no exact release date as of yet. We’ll have to resign ourselves to rereading the book while we wait.
