Furniture from The Banshees of Inisherin set goes up for sale next week

Sadly, Jenny the Donkey will not be available to purchase.

An auction at Adams in Dublin next week will see a number of props from the Oscar-nominated Banshees of Inisherin go up for sale, giving fans of the film the chance to add some of the pieces to their own personal collection.

Items due to go on sale include a large, red-painted 19th century pine dresser, with an estimate of €3,000, a 19th century painted pine settle bed, with an estimate of €1,200, and a 19th century green painted pine settle press that transforms from a cupboard into a double bed, with an estimate of €1,500, RTÉ reports.

Collectors will also have the chance to obtain a merchant steps, a dowry chest and stools, as well as paintings and crockery.

The auction takes place live on Wednesday 12 April with viewing over four days, beginning this Friday.

Locations

The Banshees of Inisherin was released in October 2022 and was filmed on sites across Achill Island and Inis Mór.

Colm’s seaside cottage was a small whitewashed house located on Keem Beach in Achill, historically used in the early 1900s by fishermen hunting basking sharks. Permission was granted by the local owners for the cottage to be featured in the film.

Meanwhile, the film’s confessional scenes were filmed in the Achill Island’s only Protestant church – Confession boxes had to be brought in and removed after filming – with heating installed in the building afterwards in a gesture of thanks.
