Picture the scene – it’s the climax of the upcoming Bond movie and 007 has finally locked up the baddie who then bursts into a chorus of I Want To Break Free by Queen. Fin.
This and other spoilers were revealed in Jamaica today at the official launch of Bond 25, the as-yet-untitled upcoming movie in the iconic spy franchise. Just playing, obvs.
The aforementioned plot point though, while ludicrous, might just work given that Bohemian Rhapsody‘s Rami Malek has apparently been cast as the villain in the project. It had been rumoured that the Academy Award winner would be taking on the role of the antagonist and he appeared to confirm just that in his official announcement video (below) in which he says “I will be making sure that Mr. Bond will not be having an easy ride of it.”

Hardly the words of a man who wants to burst into a few bars of You’re My Best Friend with Daniel Craig.
Other actors that were added today are Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen and David Dencik. They will be joining returning cast members such as Craig as the man himself, along with Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Jeffrey Wright.
Bond 25 is due to be shot in Jamaica, Norway, London, and Italy and is scheduled for release in April 2020. Surely Rami can at least get involved in the theme tune?
